Wildland Sadhana
A monthly cultivation immersion in the old ways
This is a traditional way of cultivating the body, breath, and awareness—practiced in direct relationship with the living world.
A routine of connection, reclaiming the mind, cultivating awareness.
Each month, we gather in an old-growth forest beside a glacial river, where the raw elements of the land become part of the training.

This matters.

When you train in living environments, your awareness sharpens differently. Your body begins to respond, adjust, and organize itself in ways that don’t happen in static spaces.

The work becomes immediate. Tangible.
We won’t just walk the land—we’ll learn how to be in it.

What This Develops
This training cultivates three core capacities:
-
Stabilized Awareness
The ability to remain aware of being aware—consistently, not intermittently
-
Integrated Embodiment
A connected, responsive body where breath, movement, and awareness function together
-
Relational Attunement
The ability to sense and intentionally engage within the exchange between yourself and the environment
At its core, this work is based on a simple recognition:
Life is a living field of intelligence. The role of the practitioner is not to control or escape it—but to become a clear, embodied participant within it.

What We Do
We begin with simple, continuous movements drawn from Qi Gong—opening the body and bringing awareness into breath and sensation.
From there, we move into postures that develop a stable center and attuned awareness.
Once this is established, we carry that awareness into the forest. Through slow, intentional movement, you refine how you walk, sense, and respond—becoming more aware of the ground beneath you, the air around you, and the space you move through.

We work with awareness directly:
Learning what to be aware of and remain connected within yourself while engaging with the environment.
We also explore movement through the terrain—using fallen trees and uneven ground to develop balance, coordination, and responsiveness.
Depending on the day, we may include breath practices with cold river immersion, or solo movement and sensing practices in the forest.
We close with a simple ritual of acknowledgment and integration, sharing what we became more present to or shifted us.

The Orientation
This is not about stepping away from life.
It is about honoring the need to reconnect and anchor in ourselves...of becoming more aware within the greater movement of our life—more embodied, more responsive, and more connected to the world you are part of.
